Thank you for everyone who came out and made our 18th annual Ball an evening to remember. We had a great time with sizzliling perfomances from every band starting with the Hot Tamales welcoming folks at the front door to Corey Ledet setting the night off on the right note with a deep groove of traditonal Zydeco. Steve Riley and the boys were up next and showed why they are the best at what they do as they covered the full range of Louisiana music and ended up with a full stage of musicians including the whole Hot Tamale Brass Band, a few stray Buffalos and yours truly scratching away on a frottoir. The night ended with Donna the Buffalo entralling the herd to new heights as they jammed away with the Mamou Playboys as we brought another Ball to it’s conclusion. Thanks to Klondike Sound, the wonderful staff at Rhodes, the decorating crew from VSA Arts RI, Terry and Chuck from Mclaughlin & Moran, the Chili Brothers for the great food, Alan & Michelle for costume judging, Joe and Paula for always being there (even when they can’t be), the Lagniappe volunteers – John, Shawna, Brian, Lisa, Caitlin and Chuck. Finally , to two very special ladies who I couldn’t do this evening without. First, thanks to Jeannine Chartier from VSA Arts RI. She is the heart and soul of her organization and I am very proud and humble to be affiliated with her and the great work that she does every day. Secondly, thanks to my wife Debra. She is my rock. I wouldn’t be here today or able to do what I am able to accomplish without her. All my love. Again, thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. We hope see y’all this summer at least at one or at all of the festivals.
