FRANK  FAMILY  FUNDRAISER

We are organizing a fundraiser for the great family of Creole musicians from Lake Charles, LA, the Franks. Preston, who is a fixture at Rhythm & Roots and the Grassroots Festival and the father of Keith and the Frank Family Band was laid off  from his job in November.  His wife, Louise, had a stroke  just before Christmas. Preston is now at home handling Louise’s physical and medical needs.  That is why he has to cancel playing at this year’s Mardi Gras Ball with Donna the Buffalo.

We are appealing to the Northeast Dance community and it’s generosity to throw it’s support and help raise funds for the Frank Family.  So far the Boston Zydeco Dance series, the Woonsocket Mardi Gras Ball and  Sal’s Productions have joined our efforts.  They will be actively seeking donations at their upcoming events.  We will be accepting donations of any size.  People can write checks to Lagniappe Productions and send them to 255 Holly Road, Wakefield RI 02879.  Please write for the Frank Family in the ledger line.

On the night of the Mardi Gras Ball at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, we will be actively soliciting donations during the course of the evening. Anyone who donates an amount of $10 or greater will automatically be considered to be eligible to be awarded a full weekend pass to one of these three events: the Bayou & Boogie Fest in Rehobeth MA in May, the Grassroots Fest in Trumansburg NY in July and the Rhythm & Roots Fest in Charlestown RI in September.  We will post the names of the people receiving these tickets the day after the Ball.
